Why treat baby teeth?

Often times, parents ask us: "Why do I need to do fillings on baby teeth? Aren't they going to lose it anyway?"

At Safari Children's Dentistry in Burlington and Milton, your child's dental health care is our top priority. Children will typically lose their front teeth between 5-8 years old. However, they will not lose their molars until they are 10-12 years old. Primary molars are extremely important because they serve as space holders for the following permanent teeth that are growing underneath. If a child loses his/her baby molar to early, his/her teeth starts shift as they gain more permanent teeth. This is why we fill cavities in primary molars!

For more information, please check out our "Parent's Corner" or click here for more information. Or, you can give us a call and we will be more than happy to book your child a dental appointment at our Milton or Burlington location!
